Johnny Cash - Hurt

I watched Walk the Line for the first time today. It is such a GREAT movie!! I also watched this music video that Johnny Cash did just before he died. It is so moving and so powerful. I know that he is rockin' out in heaven!

Okay Em, Crazy...we just watched Walk the Line for the first time the other night too.
Was he really a believer before he died? I know I have heard that, but I wanted to know for sure...do you know?

Emily - Have you seen "Ray" also? That was another great movie I liked as much as Walk The Line. It has a pretty moving portrayal of redemption/forgivness - but I don't want to give it away. Even though Ray Charles wasn't the most noble of people to look up to. But it certainly gave me a HUGE amount of respsect for him as a musician and innovator and what it was like to be black (not to mention blind) in those early days. I had never realized at all how much of a huge controversy it was when he mixed Gospel/Church music/styles of the black church with rock/soul etc. and a lot of people in the black church community found that very disturbing and offensive - something we take for granted today as a normal style.

Great song! Most people think Johnny Cash wrote it but he didn't... but he does a great cover of it anyway!

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails wrote the song. Weird huh? When sung from a different perspective the song takes a different tone/attitude. Sorta like Tori Amos' "Strange Little Girls" album where she sings all male songs. Music is the best!
